Upcoming Minimum Wage Increases for Fall

There are five provinces increasing their minimum wage rates in September and October:

• British Columbia will increase its minimum wage to $10.85 September 15
• Alberta will increase its minimum wage to $12.20 on October 1, in addition to abolishing the liquor server rate 

• Also on October 1, Ontario will raise its minimum wage to $11.40. The minimum wage for liquor servers will increase to $9.90. And the minimum wage for students will raise to $10.70

• Minimum wage will increase to $11 on October 1 in Prince Edward Island

• While the minimum wage will increase to $10.72 in Saskatchewan, also on October 1.
