Paying it Forward at the Canadian Payroll Association Conference and Trade Show

June 14, 2016 – More than 700 payroll specialists from across Canada are expected to attend the Canadian Payroll Association’s 34th Annual Conference and Trade Show: Paying it Forward from June 15-18, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta. This payroll event provides an opportunity for payroll practitioners to connect with top thought leaders in payroll compliance, employment standards, and management.

Payworks is a Gold Sponsor of this event and participates as an exhibitor at the June 16 trade show. The Taste of Alberta Snack Break takes place from 2:30-3:30 pm on June 16, and is sponsored by Payworks. The Snack Break will provide delegates with a tasty Western BBQ, including chicken wings, mini sliders, and meatballs. If you are headed to the trade show on June 16, please stop by the Payworks booth to say hello, and to collect your ticket to the snack break.
Conference delegates should also visit the Payworks booth to enter our fabulous prize draws. Every half hour, we will draw for a $50 gift card and Payworks will pay it forward by making a $50 donation to the charity of the winner’s choice. All draw entrants will also be eligible to win Payworks’ Grand Prize Draw, including $500 in gift cards and Payworks will make a $500 donation to the charity of the winner’s choice.

For the first time, Payworks is also participating in the Conference Education Sessions as a presenter. The Information Security & Governance in the Age of Cyber Threats education session on June 18 will be presented by Belinda Carfrae, Director, Treasury & Governance at Payworks, and Kevin Sokolowski, Vice President, Information Technology at Payworks. Our industry professionals will share information security tips and best practices for internal governance in any type of business. Whether your company pays one employee or 10,000 and uses payroll software in-house or outsources to a payroll service provider, after this session you will return to your workplace armed with practical knowledge that you can share with your colleagues and leadership team to help your organization implement best practices. Topics covered include payroll governance (i.e. segregation of duties, most common payroll fraud, audit and compliance, etc.) and information security (password security, common malware, alerts and warnings, etc.).
