On June 1, 2016, Payworks employees across Canada will show their support for Tim Hortons Camp Day® and the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation by rolling up their sleeves to work behind the counter and participating in other restaurant activities.
Camp Day is the one day each year when every penny from coffee sales at participating Tim Hortons restaurants is donated to the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. Camp Day is the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation’s largest annual fundraising initiative and 2016 is the event’s 25th anniversary.
In April 2014, Payworks announced its national partnership with the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. The Tim Horton Children’s Foundation (THCF) is a non-profit charitable organization founded in 1974 that is committed to providing intentional camp experiences that build essential life skills for children and youth from low-income families. The Foundation’s funding comes from Tim Hortons Camp Day, fundraising activities, special events, and year-round public donations collected through counter and drive-thru coin boxes, as well as other donations. By the end of 2016, more than 237,000 children will have attended a Foundation camp at no cost to them or their families.
Payworks staff volunteered at Tim Hortons restaurants for Camp Day activities in 2014 and 2015. In order to show our support for the Tim Horton Children’s Foundation and to help raise awareness about Camp Day, Payworks has purchased and distributed enough Camp Day bracelets for all Payworks employees to wear across Canada, including bracelets for our volunteers on June 1.
